Frightmare

Frightmare was Sparks’ answer to the big Reno haunts: a multi-attraction operation at Victorian Square, right next to the Century Theatres, claiming over 100,000 guests entertained by 2013. Its final season in 2014 packed four attractions under one roof: the Zombie Farm House, built on the story of a farm family that vanished in 1952; Evil Clown Town, 3,200 square feet of 3D clown chaos; The Maze; and The Black Hole. Tickets ran $10 to $25, with the Dolan Auto Group as presenting sponsor.

Then came the sign-off that became a local legend of its own. For 2015 the website announced, in all caps, that the largest haunted house in Northern Nevada was closed for remodeling and would reopen in 2016. It never did. The same notice sat on the site unchanged for years, a promise nobody came back to keep, until the domain itself went dark.
