The Zombie Crawl is Reno’s Halloween at city scale. Crawl Reno turns downtown into a single sprawling party: around 20,000 costumed crawlers, more than 40 bars, and drink specials everywhere a crawl cup is honored. It kicks off at Circus Circus with Silver Legacy, Eldorado, and J Resort in the mix, and USA Today has ranked it among the ten best costumed Halloween events in the country.

It started in 2008, when founder Ed Adkins noticed Halloween fell on a Friday and rounded up a few hundred friends in zombie makeup. The crawl cup is the ticket: it gets you $4 specials and no cover at every stop, and it’s how the bars know you’re in.

It’s not a haunt, there are no scare actors, and nobody jumps out at you except other drunks in makeup. It earns its place in this guide anyway.
