What's New for Halloween 2026: A Casino Haunt and a Killer Clown Maze

South Shore gets its first real haunted house inside Bally's Lake Tahoe, and Ferrari Farms turns its corn maze over to killer clowns for $15. The two newest haunts in this guide.

The 2026 season is open. Dark Prison opened September 25, Andelin’s corn is already rustling, and this year the map itself grew. Two attractions join the guide this week: one brand new, one that’s been hiding in plain sight.

Tahoe Terror: the casino haunt

The biggest news of the season sits at lake level. Tahoe Terror Haunted House opens October 2 inside the Opal Ultra Lounge at Bally’s Lake Tahoe, the first real haunted house South Shore has ever had, built where the casino’s nightclub used to pour bottle service.

The crew behind it is a Reno export. It’s the sister haunt to The Final Hour in Sparks, whose owner Kyle Walters asked general manager Chris Setser, a Tahoe native with 15 years as a scare actor, to build it. His stated goal for opening year, per the Tahoe Daily Tribune: “I think people are going to come out crying, hopefully.”

The details read like a haunt designed by a casino, in the best way. Friday and Saturday nights, 8 pm to midnight. Halloween night runs late (the Tribune reported until 3 am), timed so the Freaker’s Ball crowd can roll straight from the party into the maze. November 1 closes the season with a Lights OUT night, the entire haunt run in darkness. Tickets are $28 online, $38 at the door, and $40 for front-of-line VIP. It’s about an hour and a quarter from Reno, so make it a night: the drive home down Spooner at midnight is its own haunted attraction.

The fifteen-dollar clown maze

The second addition costs fifteen dollars. On four October Saturdays and Friday the 30th, Ferrari Farms on Mill Street turns its five-acre corn maze into Reno’s Giant Killer Clown Corn Maze.

Frank Ferrari hand-cuts that maze every season with trick corners and dead ends that already eat daytime visitors. At night, with clowns loose in it, it becomes the area’s best scare-per-dollar bet: $15 for adults and $10 for kids 10 and under, entry and parking to the surrounding fall festival are free, and the whole thing runs walking distance from the airport. Tickets are sold in person only (cash, Zelle, Venmo, or Cash App), so come prepared, and treat it as a rough-cut country scare rather than a produced walkthrough. That’s the charm.

Also worth knowing this season

One subtraction: Halloween House, the actor-free walkthrough that opened at the Outlets at Legends in 2024, has pivoted to a Christmas show and listed its walk-through’s physical assets for sale. No 2026 Halloween season has been announced, so it’s in the Boneyard for now.

Everything else you love is back. Dark Prison runs through November 1 inside the prison. Corn Creepers is in the corn. Silver Raven throws its 20th “AnniverSCARY.” The Zombie Crawl shambles October 17. Full details, dates, and prices live on the 2026 season guide and the calendar, both updating as the season rolls.
